Identify > Identify Layer Contents (Extra Menu)

With this command, all objects and instances of the drawing that are currently assigned to specific layers can be selected. The "Layer Selection" Dialog appears. If a Selection Filter is in use, then only objects also fulfilling the specified conditions are selected.

Objects in hidden or locked layers are not selected.
