Template > Save as (Manage Menu)

This command saves the current drawing elements in a drawing template file. Those drawing elements are for example: page format, layers, coordinate systems, pens, line types and various drawing settings.

If the elements are saved in the file MKCAD6.MKD, they are used as the basic settings whenever a new drawing is started. This can easily be achieved by means of the Template > Save as Default command.
