An alpha value (translucency / opacity indicator).

Element Description

Usually, a value of MKI_ALPHA_MIN (0) defines a completely opaque element, a value of MKI_ALPHA_MAX (254) defines a almost completely translucent element (although this should normally be realized by means of the filling mode). A value of MKI_ALPHA_BYLAYER (255) is interpreted as "by layer", i.e. the translucency will be defined by the corresponding layer.
