Surface / Curve > Generate Surface (Trim Menu) |

This command can be used to generate a surface from individual outline elements. This is particularly useful to hatch areas which are not a surface, but are made up of the space between other objects.
The objects whose outlines are to be included in the new surface are chosen. Click on objects to choose them.
If you need to temporarily close gaps or add outline elements for executing this command, please use the Dynamic Snapping Guide to add lines or curves before finishing object selection. Snapping Guide objects that are added later cannot be taken into account! For a detailed instruction on how to create surfaces from individual objects, please refer to Generating a Surface.
After choosing the objects, several reference points can be entered, one after another. These points can be entered using the mouse, by clicking anywhere in the drawing. The current result will be highlighted.
Use the buttons in the Parameter Window to select for each individual reference point which types of outlines shall be recognized:
Outlines of Construction Aid objects will be recognized.
Outlines of Dynamic Snapping Guide objects will be recognized.
Outlines of normal drawing objects will be recognized.
After entering all reference points (at least one), finish the point entry by clicking the right mouse button. If the Workflow Manager is active and appears, choose Finish Command in it. Now, the surface is generated and inserted.
Generated surfaces are not automatically allocated to the current layer. Instead, the command Layers > Defaults is used to decide whether they should be assigned to the current layer, or another specified layer. The same goes for the command Pens > Defaults and pen assignments.
In this command's parameters, you can choose whether the result shall be automatically simplified, and set the corresponding tolerances (see "Simplify Curve / Surface" dialog).
